Send a Gleam: Preach My Gospel FHE Lessons

I wanted to just write out how the inspiration for these lessons came about. After having served an LDS mission to Barcelona, Spain, I fell in love with the book Preach My Gospel and the way it helped me as a missionary become a better person. By living the precepts taught in Preach My Gospel, I was able to teach those investigating the church and testify to those wanting to know more about Jesus Christ, and I learned how invaluable that truly is.

I had recently been married only 3 months when I felt an impression that I needed to start preparing RIGHT then (before we had even talked about when we were having children) to teach my children the gospel. I knew Preach My Gospel from having lived it on the mission, so I strongly felt that I needed to prepare lessons from Preach My Gospel for a family setting, so that my kids would be living the concepts before they ever entered the MTC, and we would be a Preach My Gospel family, living in a world that needs missionaries everywhere of all ages.

I called up one of my favorite friends and mission companions and we started these lessons, both following the spirit and striving to create a lesson plan that would be easy to follow and that would teach all the concepts that missionaries in the mission field are teaching.

The lessons are not perfect, but it can give you a head start to knowing how you personally can teach your children the gospel and prepare them to be missionaries.

We have gone through Preach My Gospel and come up with 64 Family Home Evening lessons that are based on chapters and sections in Preach My Gospel. (If it's not highlighted then it's not complete yet! Thanks, it is a work in progress!) PLEASE follow the spirit and study these lessons ALONG with Preach My Gospel, don't just rely on these lessons alone. The spirit will teach you what you need for your individual family and how to change/adapt these to your needs. (Again, these are just lessons we've come up with, they are not perfect!) Thanks!
